#44 - Love Yourself Exercise

Introduction

This week will open up your heart for self-love... Simple and powerful exercise will bring a new quality to the connection with yourself.

This profound exercise is about gazing at yourself in the mirror. Deeply looking into your eyes. Our aim is to gaze with love, beyond any thinking process, including judgment and self-criticism.

It's one of the mindfulness exercises which will help you align in the present moment.

One of the meditative techniques which are focused mostly on opening a heart for self-love and self-acceptance, self-compassion, aiding stress management, improve relationships, and emotional resilience.

This profound exercise will help you to accept every small piece of yourself, as well as to trigger some mind programs which might come up to the surface.

Some people aren't able to look deep into their own eyes by looking at the mirror and say "I love you" from depth of your heart.

Even if you will find this exercise easy, try to do it for whole week. Possibly you will discover something new.

In many of us, self-criticism will become more active. Observe it. Find the core of each thinking process - analyse everything after each session.

If you have a mind program, that looking at yourself in the mirror is narcissistic. Embrace it.

I believe you are ready.

Exercise

Practice this exercise as often as you can. The steps are as follow:

  • Create a calm, relaxing atmosphere, make sure you can be full with yourself and nobody will bother you. It can be your bathroom, or you can simply bring the mirror to your rejuvenating space.

  • Relax, and open yourself for the present moment.

  • Make eye contact with your own reflection.

  • Observe your inner dialog. Are there any possible mind programs that occur?

  • Look into the mirror and say "I love you".

  • You might find yourself in some emotions, tears might start flowing. It's okay, accept it as it is. Let yourself experience whatever comes.

  • Observe your inner dialog. Are there any possible mind programs occurring?

  • Take your time, try to not control it, but the minimum, you want to aim for between 5-10 minutes per session. Ultimately, we aim for around 30 minutes.

  • Write down your experiences, and check how they change over time.

You might find this exercise challenging.

Over time you will find that it will create a more positive perspective, and you will be ready to fully accept who you are

Interestingly, with time and regular practice, you can experience the great depth of this exercise. It won't be just looking at your own reflection in the mirror. It will become a more and more magical experience.

That's one of the keys to getting to the depths of your true self. Good Luck :)
