Teacher of Practical Spirituality
My name is Kamil Jan, and I am a Practical Spiritual Teacher—your friend on this journey.
Sharing my story has always been somewhat challenging. My memories often felt blurred, and recalling specific events seemed distant—perhaps because I integrated many life lessons into the present moment without holding onto intense emotional attachments. Even when life threw difficulties my way, I rarely held onto them in a way that caused lasting trauma. Instead, it seemed natural for me to let go and move forward, weaving each lesson into the fabric of my present experience.
I grew up in a family that faced its share of challenges. My parents enjoyed the freedom of not working much, which led to frequent financial struggles. They argued often, fueled by nearly daily alcohol use. I could call their relationship a rather fiery one, but they loved one another. As the eldest sibling, I felt responsible for my two younger brothers, trying to protect their emotional and mental well-being. Sometimes, I was more like the family’s “therapist” than just a child. Yet even these difficult circumstances served as catalysts, awakening in me an desire to find solutions that could end suffering. I wanted a life that was not only more stable but also fulfilling on a deeper level.
From a very young age, I sensed that I didn’t see the world the way most people did. In everyday moments, I would notice subtle emotions and energies that seemed invisible to those around me. Interestingly, my family background hinted that I wasn’t entirely alone in these perceptions. We had stories of seeing ghosts and sensing presences beyond the ordinary, and I recall my grandfather gifting me my very first pendulum—a gesture that confirmed spirituality was part of my heritage.
It wasn’t just about being observant; it felt as if I was tapping into a deeper layer of reality, guided more by curiosity. Whether I was watching movies, listening to music, playing games, or reading, I searched for that “spark” of something deeper. Over time, I came to believe these perceptions might be connected to a more expanded state of consciousness—one that prompted me to ask bigger questions about life and look beyond the surface.
School often felt superficial. I disliked memorizing facts only to forget them after exams, and I never quite fit into typical social cliques. However, subjects like Religion and Biology (especially genetics) genuinely intrigued me. They offered glimpses into life’s deeper mysteries, spurring my curiosity to understand the true nature of existence.
I usually saw myself as friendly and easygoing, but adolescence still brought harsh realities. A few older students from different classes bullied me, driving me to retreat further into my inner world. That inner realm became my haven, where I explored philosophy, religion, and various esoteric practices—such as out-of-body travel, lucid dreaming, energy work, aura reading, and using cards to gain intuitive insights. While these might sound mystical, they felt completely natural to me, as though I were rediscovering truths I had always known.
After completing gymnasium (middle school), I enrolled in a technical high school focusing on economics. I hoped financial knowledge would give me freedom, but I soon grew disillusioned with the outdated curriculum. It seemed to prepare us only for a narrow life path: work, accumulate money, then retire with minimal savings. That vision left me unfulfilled. I remember feeling trapped in a system that didn’t align with my dreams or values. Despite my teachers’ attempts to keep me in the program, I switched to a high school schedule requiring only two days of classes every two weeks. This choice freed me to delve into both entrepreneurship and spirituality at my own pace. It felt like stepping out of a cage—finally free to follow my deeper passions.
Over the next few years, I experimented with different ventures: selling loans and insurance, trading cryptocurrencies, marketing, and trying to launch startups. Each taught me something about business, persistence, and human connection. Yet none of these pursuits fully resonated with my heart. I consistently returned to spirituality, the thread that wove all my experiences into a meaningful whole. Interestingly, I never found a single teacher or mentor to follow completely—my journey was guided by life itself, driven by an inner curiosity and a sense of creation that arose from within.
During this period, I visited various religious and spiritual communities to learn from each. I started facilitating workshops in my hometown, where participants—often much older than I was—joined me in spontaneous meditations and techniques that seemed to flow through me from a universal source of wisdom. Initially, I didn’t fully grasp what I was sharing; I simply allowed the insights to flow. Over time, I recognized that many of these methods had already been documented by ancient spiritual teachers, hinting at a universal plane of wisdom accessible to anyone. I felt a bit like Nikola Tesla, channeling ideas that seemed ahead of their time.
Though spirituality felt natural to me, I sometimes struggled to balance it with other interests. I’d over-invest in one area—be it a new business, a creative project, or a spiritual practice—at the expense of others. Realizing these patterns helped me cultivate a more grounded approach over time. That was also when I realized I had never experienced a dramatic downfall or tragic loss; my main challenge was a lack of meaning in purely material pursuits. Spirituality felt eternal, unbounded, and far more fulfilling than a simple chase for money or status.
Eventually, I took a break from leading workshops, unsure how to anchor my insights in day-to-day living. My natural sense of happiness and connection had always been with me, so it took a while to understand just how transformative these practices could be for people who lacked that sense of inner peace. This pause revealed that true spirituality isn’t limited to internal contemplation; it can enrich our practical, everyday experiences as well.
I spent time traveling around Europe, continuing to discover who I was. During summers, I led sessions in what I called Dynamic Meditation Technique (DMT), which aimed to provide a comprehensive spiritual path. The desire was to make spirituality structured and accessible, and these gatherings, with anywhere from 50 to 100 participants, reinforced my calling to share what I’d learned. Helping others always felt natural—an extension of my own joy that I wanted to offer freely.
Along the way, I channeled my understanding into writing, first producing a 900-page manuscript and then condensing it to 400 pages. Still, something felt incomplete, urging me to refine my perspectives further. Ultimately, I arrived at a holistic approach I call practical spirituality—a way to interweave spiritual principles into the experience of everyday life. Though I was sometimes uncertain how practical my methods were, I never doubted the source or depth of my experiences. My attempts to organize this knowledge became a personal mission: to create a guide others could use without searching aimlessly for years, as I had.
Today, my journey continues, and I remain profoundly thankful for every challenge and each person who has crossed my path. To me, practical spirituality is more than just an idea—it’s a lived experience. I’m honored to share it with those who feel drawn to explore the deeper dimensions of existence and bring those insights into their daily lives.
