#11 - Spa Day

Introduction

We all live surrounded by stress and distractions. What we need is to relax and give ourselves some time to simply get all the stress melted. I know for most women it is natural to take care of the body and do something nice. Not so common for men, but I am telling you there isn't anything better than having at least a whole evening just to rejuvenate.

In many religions, there is one holy day, a day of rest. It's a very smart way of living, you will be much more effective in the long term if you let yourself recharge batteries.

Don't treat this topic as something not essential, it is very important to learn how to take breaks, relax and simply love your vessel.

Beginning

Start from the body. It is the closest thing you could give your attention to. You will also receive useful information with tips to improve your condition to make you a step closer to understanding that body is a temple that you keep clean, care for and love, by not letting in harm and negative dirt from outside. We should all learn to respect our bodies, be grateful, raise awareness and self-esteem to become more confident.

Gratitude makes wonders when it comes to transformation, that’s why it is important to thank all your parts of your body for all this hard work.

Love your body. Put it into practice so that vessel will serve you for a very long time.

Gratitude

Take a moment for yourself, find silence, and really engage in this warm exercise. You can do some self-massage if you feel like it. If it happens, that you lost some of your limbs, double thank those ones who serve you every day. Feel free to adjust exercise for your needs.

  • Look at your hands, say simply Thank You for all this hard work you do for me.

  • Look at your legs, say simply Thank You, that you help me to walk wherever I need.

  • Thank you, my eyes, that you help me see everything I’d like to watch.

  • Thank you, my nose, so I can enjoy magical scents.

  • Thank you, my ears, that you help me to listen to my favorite music.

  • Thank you, my mouth, so I can express my deepest feelings.

  • Thank you, my tongue, that you make me enjoy food.

Thank all of your parts of the body. You can also, in your mind, thank all of the internal organs for all this hard job we give them every day.

Really take your time on this exercise, and engage in this process on regular basis.

Being grateful on a regular basis will make you value parts of your body. Every tiny process keeps you alive, just for you - to enjoy life. They are the most precious things you have.

Your body deserves love, just as you do. Hmm.. so if you are not your body?

Who are you then?

Thankfulness is part of loving all you have, every day think about the few things in you that make you feel grateful.

“When you’re happy inside, it shows outside”.

Your natual appearance

Some people take care of their outer look just to seem “better” for somebody else, just to demonstrate. It is a sign that a person acting like that towards his own body is dependent on others’ opinion, and they constantly need to make sure they look good according to the words of outsiders. It is harmful to self-esteem, paying a high price for being a slave of the opinion of someone from afar.

“Doing so much to show, yet there’s nothing more...” a quote for those who don’t like their looks before artificial add ons, like makeup or even plastic surgery. Those who don’t wish to accept the uniqueness, don’t find themselves beautiful unless they go over some “corrections”. It’s not a judgemental sentence, but just to bring your awareness of what is the core of this decision, make sure it is about loving yourself the way you are born.

"Nurture your body from within as well as from outside, not only one side."

  • Comb your hair with love, use skincare creams, vitamins. Remember, to go for natural bio-products.

  • Work out, do yoga, eat more healthy, take care of good sleep.

  • Enjoy every drop of the showering water and massage your face, scalp, and body.

  • Ask yourself how do you appear to yourself in the mirror? Find those parts you like the most! Learn to like yourself, fresh out of the bath, natural and healthy.

Be creative! It’s about doing everything possible to blossom and love.

One day you’ll see yourself in the mirror and think that it helped your stomach to work better since you stopped going out to eat junk food every Friday. Instead, you started fasting once a month on water that visibly improves your skin. You will look at yourself and be like “Hmm, I like how clean my face looks. It’s soft to touch and smells like true me” when you started using natural and kind-to-skin soap.

There are many good small things to add to your daily routine, we will work on many of them in the following months.

Once a week SPA day

Spa days are very helpful to unite with yourself and will teach you to be kind. Will boost your self-confidence and aid you to calm down and take things slower. Nurture and care are at the reach of your hand.

Home Spa, costs a little or nothing! There are many budget-friendly solutions to act on. It's the perfect time to strengthen the connection between you two, believe me, the body senses when it’s cared for.

There are some simple solutions, just pick one day and try it yourself. Usually, it is in those days where you are off work, weekends (it doesn’t have to be the whole day) but the most important is not to be tight on time. Take it freely.

Bathtub procedure

Bathtub owners are lucky because if the bath is big, you can fill it with warm water and lay down to relax better. You can just sit there and massage a tasty-smelling oil-based cocoa scrub on your neck, shoulders, arms, and legs. Gently circling your stomach area with your hand clockwise will stimulate digestion processes happening in your intestines.

Natural compounds that can be dissolved in baths, making foam, and have many useful ingredients, one of them is Epsom salt mixed with lavender oil, if high quality, is good for detox.

Transform your bathroom into a rejuvenate temple, light up a natural beeswax candle, play some relaxing background music.

A small reminder to go for those things, which you can possibly eat, you can use cold cucumber slices to place on your eyes, it will calm down tension around this area. There are really hundreds of ideas, just find out what you like the most.

Shower procedure

However, even shower owners can wash with spirulina scrub, smelling pleasant non-toxic scented candles. It is good to have a slightly larger bowl for feet when showering as well. Consciously choose the ingredients for your treatment, as organically as possible and more environmentally friendly.

An idea: instead of throwing the coffee grounds, you can use it as a scrub, it has potent antioxidant properties.

Spa day should be an overall cleansing of the organism and not only body and skin, but must include teeth treatment and face masks. You can always pour warm water into a large bowl, a couple of drops of your favorite smell, and some Epsom salt, put your feet, and just relax. And by that, I mean no phones, no screens, as it causes some tension. We need to learn to be happy with ourselves, we will need that for future exercises.

Some Ideas

Hair and scalp. Have you ever wondered how you wash your hair? Depending on your hair type and density, you know what’s the best procedure for your head. Some people have longer hair so using conditioner additionally to shampoo is essential for them. Balsams and hair masks are also available, but they’re time-consuming when it comes to usage, so your spa day is perfect to take time and wash your hair thoroughly, massaging your scalp by doing gentle circles with the tips of your fingers longer than usual. You can also go for a special head wash massager.

Here’s how you can naturally whiten your teeth and have a more beautiful smile which is a value for money as well: baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) mixed with salt and coconut oil in small amounts like a teaspoon of each to brush your teeth for a couple of minutes and rinse well. Use salted warm water to rinse your mouth, ½ teaspoon of salt per 100 ml water blend well before use, and try not to swallow, to be used instead of chemical packed mouthwash. Don't wash your teeth with this substance every day, as it might cause harm to your tooth eminent.

Dry and cracked lips can be painful for you to have, so drink more water. Apart from that, you can do a scrub for your lips to be back alive fully and nurtured, all you need is a mix of a teaspoon of sugar and coconut oil. Delicately rub your lips with it for a minute or two before rinsing with warm water, and do it regularly. This should help, if not, then pay attention to your stomach, liver, and pancreas, maybe there is something in your diet that dries your lips. Or the inner organs that send you signs to give them some love and ease their pain.

Massage your face, use peeling once a week on that day, as well as a good face mask will do the hydration. Or, you can do face cleansing procedures twice a week, if you have time whether it's scrub, mask, gel, or peeling.

Additionally, it’s good to use edible mud masks, gel eye masks (eyes need massage and exercise too), apply some hand creams, feet cream, and body lotions.

Remember about nails. Experts say it's better not to clip. If you cut them you run the risk of trimming off too much length and leaving little room for fine-tuning the shape. Always grind down your nails in one direction starting at the outer and working your way around. Healthy, stronger better-looking nails will present very well. Cuticles - when taking a warm shower or bath push them back. It's recommended to keep nails and toenails clipped short and moisturized so they are healthier and look appealing.

If you can reach a steam bath in your local swimming pool, or Russian banya, or you are blessed to have one for personal use then make sure to spend a safe amount of time in it to let toxins out of your system.

Try small massaging balls for the soles of the feet which will stimulate blood circulation in those areas; legs and feet are important ground for us to be standing. Feet sweat a lot, the wet feet will make a great atmosphere for bacteria and fungus and they cause a bad smell. Regular spa care is essential for eliminating the smell and to stay detoxicated, precise wash using natural soap, scrubbing, and putting cremes

Summary

In this manner, we covered pretty much everything from top to bottom, inside and out. This “Me, myself, and I” day that you present yourself will be the foundation of your thoughts about yourself. Who would take care of yourself if not you? Who would give you the love that you want and deserve if not you? Everything starts with you, how you treat yourself and respect your temple that is sacred. If you yourself will treat it poorly then who else will treat it better than you? If you walk your temple in dirty shoes, others would do too. So start with small steps to make big differences, use the Kaizen approach if you need.
